All these help pop up boxes are WorkInProgesss with just so headers for now
If you see any of these yellow bands like this then it means an item is being changed, added or fixed.
These will hopefully go once beta testing is over...

STARTS setup HELP..WIP
The Starts list is one of the most important screens when setting up races as it contains the start date/time for each class/start, plus number of starters, finishers, current status, race & protest cut off times and gate information. Initial making of starts can be in bulk using the ALL RACES options. Starts cannot be overwritten once made and can only be deleted if they are unlocked and unstarted. However care should be taken when deleting any starts.
Each race must have a start for each of the classes entered, even if they all start at the same time, otherwise they cannot be scored as seperate class results. For a new event you will need to make a set of starts for each Race, so ensure you have decided on your races and classes before doing this.
You must have a class start set up for a race in order to enter a finish time for a boat in that class otherwise the finish will not be recorded, so ensure all starts are setup well in advance.
Start TIMES can be changed using the main OR mobile screens so that a RC can easily amend a delayed start or even change starting sequences. However, the mobile screen will not allow a change of date.
buton | Action | Use |
LOCK ALL Starts | sets ALL starts in this race to LOCKED | useful once all starts are completed and a race is underway, prior to finishing. |
EXAMPLES and FIRST Setup of Races...
First Setup:
This page initially displays ALL races that have been set so that you can see what data has already been inputted for the whole event. On initial setup it is easiest to use the bulk MAKE options in the ALL Races display to make as many starts as possible in one go. For a regatta with 9 classes over 20 races this is 180 starts, so building them in one go and editing as required is easiest. The same may apply for a club series where you may have a weekly race day with 3 classes running 3 or 4 races for 30 weeks.. that's over 270 race starts. So using the multiple and bulk functions on this page should save you time.
It is possible to make bulk races in blocks, say for a weekly club series... if you have 5 classes, starting with 5 min gaps, and expecting to do 3 or 4 races every Sunday starting at 11:00:00, then set ...
MAKE button will produce 4 races 3 hours apart, each with 5 starts... 60 starts in one go! You can then go into each race and edit as required, including deleteing unused starts. Once a race is started or locked it cannot be deleted.
If you try and make another set of races 1 to 4 it will not allow your first set to be overwritten, but you can add an extra class by doing the same actions but increasing class/starts per race to 6 or 7, and additional starts will be added, without affecting the first batch.
Before entering your real races try making a few sets of starts to see what's possible.. you can always delete them all and start again.
Race reference numbers are unique "event+race+start" so will not be overwritten nor duplicated.
WIP more to come...
hide below
ntry List is divided into Classes and ordered by Status then Hull number
The background colours are to assist with seeing warnings , errors or status .
To add entries you can either:
With all of these methods you can amend any of the data once an entry is visible but remember to save an entry before changing another row.
DELETING...
If you delete an entry then all entry, scoring and associated data will be lost forever, so you can only delete if... there are no scores nor ranking for that entry, the status is X-DELETE..
ENTRY ROWS explained
Entries require class, Hull number, TCR minimum.
Active entries will be scored and displayed, Hidden will be scored but not displayed and Retired will not be scored.
CLASS = This should be one of the classes listed at the top
HULL = This should be a unique number for the boat - you can use sail numbers if required - uniqueness to the event will be checked each save.
DO NOT CHANGE HULL OR CLASS AFTER RACES HAVE STARTED otherwise scoring data will be lost
ALIAS.= allows you to have the same boat in 2 or more classes - you have to have the same boat in each class it is to be scored, but any race times for the master will be copied to the aliases so that you can for example, have a class of just TP52s racing within a larger class of racing boats giving 2 class results for the same race/series
WIP.....
e title that you wish to appear at the top of results pages - e.g. "Sunny Bay Annual Regatta" - max 100 char.
RACE DATES = The first and last days of actual racing - if a weekly series then first day and last day of series (Do NOT include practice days as these will affect the overall scores, set them up as a seperate event or scoring group)
STATUS = Live if it is current or future and active
TYPE = This determins the DNC score as per ISAF scoring defaults.
RACES = If a regatta where some classes compete in more races thn others show the Max number by any class. Subgroups are used to group certain races together for a subresult - see example regatta
CLASSES = The number of classes using in scoring - you can have overlapping classes for scoring by using the subrace groups - see example regatta
SCORING = The title that you wish to appear at the top of results pages - e.g. "Sunny Bay Annual Regatta" - max 100 char.
RESULT GROUPS = The title that you wish to appear at the top of results pages - e.g. "Sunny Bay Annual Regatta" - max 100 char.
RATING SYSTEM = Main rating system for bulk of classes - some classes can use PY, OMR etc whilst bulk are scored using their IRC as TCR
DISPLAYS = Line Honours is shown for each class or each race plus a Race option - this allows for Fastest Elapsed or first over line awards. Other options are for Date displays
some items still WIP RESULT GROUPS - determine how results are groups so that you can have multiple results for the same classes

You can determine which is your main option for Class Line Honours

RESult GROUPS
Number of CLASSES - go to class names setup screen to amend class names
Number of Classes
